The W Circuit in Torres del Paine, is the best known excursion in the Torres del Paine National Park, a circuit that will take you to the most beautiful places in the eighth wonder of the world.
Due to the high demand and reduced capacity of shelters and campsites on the W Circuit, we have created this special program of only 3 days, where we will visit the main viewpoints of the W Circuit, including:
Puerto Natales
Understanding the flexibility that our travelers need, this program is carried out in 4 modalities:
Important: In the case of the self-guided service, an induction talk is given to passengers the day before starting the program at their place of accommodation in Puerto Natales.
We begin our trek to Base Torres at 6:30 am, when the minibus picks up passengers at their respective lodgings in Puerto Natales, starting the trip to Torres del Paine National Park.
Within the trip, we will make temporary stops to see the landscape, this varies according to the number of travelers who will make the route to Las Torres Base. The obligatory stop is at the Laguna Amarga Gate, where we can see the wonderful view of the well-known Torres del Paine, next to this view we can appreciate the beautiful Laguna Amarga.
We continue the trip approximately 10 minutes more to reach the beginning of the walk in the Hotel Las Torres sector. The trek to the Mirador de las Torres takes approximately 4 hours. On the way we will pass through the Chilean Refuge and then to an intermediate point between the Las Torres Refuge.
At this point begins the final stretch that lasts approximately 40 minutes, until we reach the famous Las Torres Base where we can see the famous Torres lake and glacier, Mount Almirante Nieto, Cordón Oggioni, the characteristic biodiversity of the area, and above all , the magnificent granite towers.
After spending a reasonable time in this place, we return along the same path until we reach the Hostería Las Torres sector, where the minibus will take us back to Puerto Natales.
It is recommended to go up with a bottle of water (you can fill it from the springs along the way) and a walking snack (cereal bar, almonds, nuts)
The one way trip is about 9 km. approximately (4 hours). (18 km between ascent and descent) and is of medium-high difficulty.
Starting at 07:00 am, we pick up passengers at their place of accommodation in Puerto Natales and then head towards the Pudeto sector to cross Lake Pehoé in a catamaran, towards the Paine Grande refuge. From there begins our walk to the Valle del Francés along a clear path, which runs along the north shore of Lake Pehoé. After a few minutes there is a slight ascent that allows us to leave the lake behind us, and appreciate the Cuernos del Paine ahead (2,600 meters above sea level, the highest).
After 30 minutes we reach Lake Skottsberg, known for the occasional eddies that the wind forms in its waters. The trail continues along the western shore of the lake, with a view of Paine Grande (3,050 m). During the walk, several springs come from the slopes of the hills and cross the trail. We continue in the direction of the Italian camp with a spectacular setting, in front of Paine Grande and the French Glacier. From here you can continue towards the interior of the valley, one of the most beautiful corners of the entire park.
The route to the interior of the French Valley (the intermediate vertical line of the “W”) begins at Campamento Italiano. After an hour and a half we will arrive at an open and windy place called Mirador (680 masl), from where the valley is dominated with a beautiful view.
After concluding with the view of this wonderful panorama, we begin the return to the Paine Grande sector where we will stay to sleep at the Paine Grande campsite.
Starting at 08:00 am at the Paine Grande campsite, we begin our trek to the Gray Glacier viewpoint to enjoy a spectacular view of this imposing mass of ice that breaks off from the Southern Ice Field.
At first we walk along the side of a small lagoon, leaving Lake Pehoé behind, where we will arrive at the “Quebrada de los Vientos” sector, just before reaching a sector of large rounded rocks from where the south beach of the lake is visible. Gray Lake, normally populated with ice.
We will continue with our walk for approximately 2 hours, heading northwest. Our journey contemplates a flat terrain with small lengas to then reach an area of about 450 meters above sea level. From there a slight descent begins with Lake Gray on our left. Half an hour before arriving at the Gray Refuge, we will appreciate a humid terrain with abundant vegetation.
Later, we will cross a bridge over the Olguín River, located on a narrow section of the river. After 15 minutes, a short descent will take us to the refuge. From there, a short walk will take us to the viewpoint of the Gray Glacier.
At the end, the return is by the same route to Refugio Paine Grande, from where we will take the catamaran again to the Pudeto sector, arriving at our vehicle that will take us back to Puerto Natales, arriving at the city around 7: 30pm.
