It takes place from October to May of each year, from Tuesday to Sunday

In what transport do we cross the Strait of Magellan?

We cross to Strait of Magellan, through Punta Delgada (the crossing lasts approximately 30 minutes in ferry), located 170 km south of Puerto Natales

How do you pay for admission to the King Penguin Park?

You must pay only with a credit or debit card in the king penguin park itself at the time of entry. The entry costs are as follows:

  • General public: CLP$15,000
  • Adults over 60 years of age: CLP$10,000
  • Residents of Chilean Tierra del Fuego: CLP$5,000
  • Children up to 10 years old and people with disabilities: Free entry

Are there places to eat during the tour?

Depending on where the crossing is made, we can make a stop in Cerro Sombrero for lunch, generally the costs vary between CLP$10,000 and CLP$20,000, and there are also meals of the day, which include a starter, lunch, dessert and a drink. It is also recommended to bring food from Punta Arenas, since the route is long and there are no places to buy.

It is also recommended that you bring food for the trip, since depending on the season, the restaurant may be closed.

Can I cancel or reschedule my reservation once I have made the payment?

Yes, you can cancel or reschedule your reservation if you notify us 48 hours before the start of the tour, in this case we will refund 100% of the cost you paid when making the reservation or we will reschedule without penalty.

Itinerary King Penguin park from Puerto Natales

  • We start our tour at 06:00 am where the passengers are picked up in their respective accommodations in Puerto Natales, and then we will go to Primera Angostura, where we will arrive at approximately 10:30 am, the crossing lasts 20 minutes through the Strait of Magellan.
  • Once we cross the Strait of Magellan, we will head towards our first stop, where we will have lunch a typical Patagonian dish (lamb) that includes a soup, a main dish and a dessert, in this place we will be approximately one hour and you can enjoy the greatness of the Magellanic pampas.
  • Approximately at 1 pm we will arrive at the king penguin park, where we will meet after a brief talk that the ranger will give us, we will walk through the marked trails to see the second largest penguin in the world, the king penguin.
  • In this place we will be approximately 1 hour, where you can take pictures and videos, foxes, armadillos and different types of birds that accompany us on the road
  • Once the walk through the park of the penguin king is finished, we will go to Puerto Natales, leaving the passengers in their respective places of accommodation at approximately 10:00 p.m.

Important: This tour can be done from Thursday to Sunday with a minimum of 5 passengers
