How does the "Drop-off in El Calafate" option work and what do I do with my luggage?

If you choose the “Drop-off in El Calafate” option, your tour will end in the city of El Calafate (Argentina), and you will not return to Puerto Natales. You are allowed to bring your luggage with you in the vehicle for the duration of the tour. After visiting the glacier, our transport will drop you off at a central location in El Calafate so you can easily head to your hotel.

How long is the tour and what are the travel times to Argentina?

This is an extensive excursion lasting approximately 14 to 15 hours. The overland journey from Puerto Natales to the Perito Moreno Glacier takes about 4 to 5 hours each way, depending on customs clearance at the border. You will have over 2 hours of free time to explore the walkways (pasarelas) facing the glacier.

Is the Los Glaciares National Park entrance fee included?

No, the entrance fee to Los Glaciares National Park is not included in the tour price. The ticket must be paid either directly upon arrival at the park or online in advance via the official Argentina National Parks website. We highly recommend bringing a credit card or Argentine Pesos in cash, as payment policies at the gate can change.

Itinerary

Full DayPerito Moreno Glacier Tour

We will meet at the meeting point in Arturo Prat 270, Puerto Natales early in the morning to start a 5 and a half hour trip, which will take us from Puerto Natales to the Perito Moreno Glacier, in Argentina. Along the way we will make two stops: the first, at the Don Guillermo border crossing, where we will carry out customs and immigration procedures; the second, at the El Calafate Bus Terminal, where a guide will join the group, who will accompany us on our visit to Los Glaciares National Park, . Passengers can have coffee and use the toilet.

We continue our trip for 1.5 more hours until we reach Los Glaciares National Park. The park entrance fee, AR$50,000 per person for non-residents of Argentina, is not included. Passengers will have the option of sailing on Lake Argentino on a catamaran, approaching the front wall of the Glacier, where it is possible to observe the constant detachment of ice of more than 70 meters in height.

Then it is possible to travel more than 3 km of footbridges in front of one of the most imposing glaciers in the world, the Perito Moreno Glacier. This tour lasts two hours.
