Come in warm clothing: a base and a second layer, gloves, a hat, a bandana or neck scarf, sunglasses and a jacket. Bring spare clothes in case you need them.

We provide a semi-waterproof suit to be worn over your own clothes.

Total duration: 4 hours, from pick-up at your hotel to drop-off at your accommodation in Punta Arenas.

The standard pick-up time for a half-day tour is usually 08:00 AM. That allows the excursion to run for around 4 hours, including the return to the starting point.

In high season, however, this time may change. In our region high season coincides with the windy season, so departures are sometimes brought forward to take advantage of better weather. Pick-up may therefore be scheduled earlier, even around 06:00 AM, since the first hours of the day usually offer better conditions for sailing or paddling.

The final time is always confirmed according to the latest weather report given by the boat’s captain. This is how we safeguard passengers and the quality of the experience, and it lets us pick the best moment for the excursion and reduce the risk of a weather cancellation.

You can cancel your booking up to 48 hours before the activity starts and we will refund 100% of the deposit you paid to make the reservation.

1. Attendance and punctuality

Meeting point. All passengers must be at the agreed pick-up place, or at the meeting point indicated, at the time notified beforehand by email or WhatsApp.

No show. A passenger who does not appear at the stated time and gives no notice is considered a no show and loses the right to any refund. In some cases, subject to availability, we may offer to reschedule for a later departure.

2. Confirmation of times

Time confirmation. The final time of the excursion is confirmed the day before, after 19:00 hrs, because it depends on the weather.

Rescheduling because of sea conditions. For safety reasons the captain may adjust the departure time within the same day. Any change is communicated to passengers in good time.

Who sets the times. Presentation and pick-up times are set solely by the company. Special times cannot be requested: the whole operation is supervised by the captain and a specialist logistics team, who constantly monitor the weather to determine the safest moment to sail.

3. Cancellations by the passenger

Refunds for a cancellation requested by the customer follow the cancellation policy table.

4. Cancellations because of the weather

Cancellation before the tour starts. If the company cancels the excursion because of adverse weather, we first offer to reschedule the activity for a new date. If the passenger cannot reschedule, we refund 100% of the payment.

Bookings at special or promotional prices. In the event of a weather cancellation, passengers who bought the tour at a special price, promotion or offer may reschedule for the dates proposed by the reservations team, with no option of a refund.

Rescheduling window. Excursions may be rescheduled within a maximum of 2 years from the original booking date.

If no new date can be agreed. We will propose up to 3 alternative dates. If the passenger turns down all three, we refund 40% of the amount paid, taking into account operating and administrative costs and the capacity blocked by the reservation.

5. Wildlife sightings and geographical landmarks

Wildlife sightings. Our excursions take place in a natural environment, so there are factors the company cannot control. Although our sighting excursions have a high success rate, the presence of whales, dolphins or other marine species depends entirely on natural conditions. For that reason no refund is given if the excursion is completed but no sighting is achieved.

Reaching geographical landmarks. In the same way, if weather or safety conditions make it impossible to reach a specific point on the itinerary (for example the Cruz de los Mares or the San Isidro Lighthouse), but the rest of the excursion runs normally, no additional refund applies.
